Inspired by sheet music, albums and the mixtapes of my youth, Soundbite is a cheerful project that will practically fly off your needles. The color detail is created with stripes and slipped stitches, so you won’t have to carry any extra strands the way you would with colorwork.

The clean lines and contrast make this one of my favorite designs; the style is wearable for any age, any gender, and in any color palette. If high contrast isn’t your style, try two shades of the same color for a softer visual.

Needles
US Size 6/4mm (16-24 in/40-60 cm) circular needle – yoke and body (use length that is most comfortable for the size you’re knitting, transition to a longer length as needed)

US Size 5/3.75 mm (12-16 in/30-40 cm) circular needle – neckline
US Size 5/3.75mm (16-24 in/30-60cm) circular needle – bottom ribbing

Use needle size necessary to achieve gauge. Adjust all other needle sizes accordingly.

Gauge
20 st and 26 rows in 4 in/10 cm in stockinette stitch with largest needle, blocked
