A thick chunky cowl with lots of texture (fun to knit and great for gifting).

Note: Due to the nature of the stitch this pattern is only available in chart format, but there is a thread where you can find help: here. This is a very very easy chart to use (even easier than Diamond Necklace) and here are some comments by converts to chart knitting:

This is a BIGGIE for me - I’m knitting from the CHART!! And it feels so good

I’ve never used a chart and my heart sunk when I realized that there were no written instructions. I was still going to try it but… NOW I’m excited because I understand how the symbols relate and it’s a small chart so it’s not overwhelming.

I loved knitting the stitch and found the motifs reminded me of the shapes you find in art nouveau (one of my favourite styles) - here in Brussels that automatically makes you think of Horta; so I found myself describing it as “sort of Horta”.

The lace requires a tiny bit of concentration, but that keeps it interesting and there are no tricky stitches - just knit, purl, yarn-overs and decreases.
