“The inspiration for the jumper was a fabric sample from contemporary textile designer Eva Sonaike. The pattern resembled a cable pattern and I couldn’t wait to play with it to achieve a similar eff ect using twisted stitches and some two-stitch cables”

Sonaike, worked in DK yarn, is a slightly cropped jumper with set-in sleeves.
The jumper is worked flat in pieces from the bottomup.
The neckband is picked up and worked in the round.
The jumper features a cable pattern on the body with a twisted stitch pattern on a background of reverse stocking stitch.
The cable pattern can be worked from a chart or from written instructions.
Contrast yarn is used in parts of the cable to add a striking interest to the jumper. Cut 30cm lengths of CC before starting; use one length for each vertical section of pattern, stranding MC across the WS of the work.
