This reversible scarf or cowl is intended for snug winter wear, using next-to-skin soft yarn in equal amounts of 2 contrasting colors. The design is unisex.

Gauge is not critical for fit, but other gauges or other yarns may change the yardage consumed and/or finished size. Directions are given so that you can decide whether or not you have enough yarn for yet another repeat. For the cowl, the ends are joined invisibly using kitchener stitch.

Hints on working with double knitting are provided. For excellent visual tutorials I recommend Lucy Neatby’s Craftsy class or her DVD.

The pattern was designed for Hunt Valley Cashmere, and a sample will be available at their booth at Vogue Live NYC in January. To order yarn see Hunt Valley Cashmere for contact information. (Note that, if you order a kit, Hunt Valley includes the pattern.)
