Solo Skein Magda
by Hilda Steyn
I planned to knit a scarf, but it turned into a shawl. It is dainty and classical, and I love it.
The crescent shape is knitted from the top down, with a crochet cast off to create delicate little triangles on the outer edge. The lace stitch pattern is simple enough to enable an avid knitter to easily correct a mistake, but advanced enough to justify a row counter.
Instructions are provided to enable you to knit a larger shawl should you wish to do so.
The skein I used for this project is Silky Milky Moon, a delightful 100% Alpaca yarn which measured 500m to 100g. The yarn-chicken towards the end was a bit nerve wrecking so I suggest you have more than 500m available.
