This hat is worked in the round from the bottom up.

The folded brim is created by working a 2×2 rib for 10–12 cm (4–4.7 in), which adds warmth and structure.

The body of the hat is worked in Broken Rib (also known as the Iris stitch). You may choose which side to use as the right side (RS) or wrong side (WS), depending on your preferred texture. For this sample, the wrong side (WS) is used as the outside of the hat.

The hat features a flat top construction and is finished without any decreases. This creates soft, ear-like corners when worn.

This pattern was originally designed for a child, but the sizing can be easily adjusted for adults.
