The Snuggler Hooded Car Seat Blanket is a great baby gift that can be used for years.

Finished size: 27” (68 cm) wide; hangs down 12” (30 cm) in back and 16” (40 cm) in front.

Yarn: Aran-weight yarn, around 750 yards.This pattern creates its own stripes using two skeins of Caron Cakes. Katia Paint and Premier Sweet Rolls will both create a similar striped effect. However, you don’t need to use a self-striping yarn to get a great result from this pattern. Solids, speckles, and variegated yarn all pair well with this pattern.

Gauge: 18 sts and 22 rows to 4”/10 cm in stockinette stitch.

Needles: US 8/5.0 mm, or size to obtain gauge.

Difficulty: Beginner. This beginner-friendly pattern is worked all in one piece - the only seam is at the back of the hood, so there is minimal finishing. It’s mainly stockinette, but there is a little bit of texture on some rows to keep you interested. The slip-stitch border gives a polished look to the seed-stitch edging. Full written instructions include details helpful to those without much knitting experience.
