Quick knit alternative version
The pattern includes instructions for an unlined version of the cowl. This version features i-cord edgings at the top and bottom. Knit this way, you will use less than 3g of each CC and about 30g of MC.
Construction
Beginning with a provisional cast-on, the outer cowl is worked in the round from the bottom up. After the bottom border, the body of the cowl is worked in Snowball Stitch, using each miniskein in turn. The top borders of the outer cowl and lining are worked and joined to create a folded edge. The lining is worked in one-row helical stripes, alternating MC with the miniskein leftovers. The cowl lining is then joined to the outer cowl. The bottom border is completed by working the lining bottom border and grafting to the provisional cast-on.
This pattern has been professionally tech edited, for a trouble-free knit.
A note on yarn quantities…
The outer cowl uses just less than 3g of each CC. The lining uses about 19g of CC in total.
My miniskeins were each slightly different sizes, so I decided to finish some of them while working the lining and not include others. For a more uniform look on the lining, work even lengths of each CC, each one totalling about 1.5g of yarn.
