Snail Hollow Shawl
Worked from the tip down, Snail Hollow is is worked at different rates of increase to form an asymmetrical triangle with a wonderful drape. The slipped stitch color and texture section is less complex than it looks, as you work with one color at a time. After the shawl body is complete, the side edging is picked up and worked last, finishing with an I-cord bind off for a neat hem.
The finished measurements are a wingspan of 62” after blocking and a center back of 21.5” after blocking. Your measurements may vary depending on how aggressively you blocked the shawl.
This is a fun opportunity to play with color: you can choose colors with high contrast or go for a more subtle look.
You will need two skeins of fingering weight yarn, 100g each, and a US size 4 (3.5mm) 32” circular needle. This is a good project for the Advanced Beginner or Intermediate knitter.
