Smocked Lace Toddler Mittens
by Terry Morris
Smocking is an embroidery technique used to decorate and gather fabric. The touch of smocking worked over lace gives these toddler mittens a feminine touch for that special little girl. The thumb gussets are on the sides, and the hand decreases are swirled which makes mittens that can be worn on either hand. Lace pattern is both charted and written line-by-line; you chose which method you prefer to use.
