Beyond the pattern…This is the first pattern in our series designed to showcase designs for new knitters. The series will feature simple yet classic designs. Each pattern will have much more details on the “Hows and Whys” of knitting the design and links to videos to help you through the process of knitting the garments and increase your knowledge of knitting techniques.

The hat band is K2P2 ribbing which transitions to K1P1 ribbing for the body of the hat. Since the purl stitches in ribbing recede behind the knit stitches, the hat may look small but it will stretch to fit any size adult head.
