Sleepy Caterpillar
Sleepy caterpillar looks like he is having sweet dreams!
With his cute embroidered expression, Sleepy Caterpillar is safe for even the smallest child to hug. Once felted you can safely wash him on a wool cycle, making him a great bedtime toy for toddlers.
Quick and easy to make for new knitters, this cuddly sleepy caterpillar is knitted flat using stocking stitch and basic increases and decreases.
This project is easily knitted in pure wool, made up and then shrunk into soft huggable felt by washing it.
I used a self-striping yarn but you can just as easily use a single shade or create our own stripes with multiple colours. There is no need to weave in ends when changing colours just knot the ends together and keep knitting. Make sure the knot is on the back of the knitting, and it will disappear when you felt your toy.
The 5-page pattern includes a line by line pattern and fully illustrated instructions for sewing up, stuffing, felting and adding the features to your toy.
Every sleepy Caterpillar is slightly different after felting, and discovering each character is half the fun!
