Slalom
Cables weave in and around each other in this wonderful design. The pattern covers the entire leg and arch, including the back of the heel.
The construction of these socks is based on the architectures in Cat Bordhi’s New Pathways for Sock Knitters. Work begins at the top. Increases are worked into the cable pattern to expand for the foot. A reinforced “flap” heel takes us down to the foot. A wedge toe finishes it off.
Size: Each size is worked over the same number of stitches. To obtain the size needed, work in the gauge specified below:
Size 5 7 9 11
Gauge: 9 8.5 8 7.5 stitches per inch in stockinette
Yarn: Any fingering weight sock yarn that gives you the necessary gauge will work. A wool yarn works best for the cables.
Pattern Format: A 6-page .pdf document. Please note that the pattern is written using charts. If you would prefer a version written out, send me a message; maybe that will be the kick in the pants I need to get it done!
