Sky Full of Stars Shrug
THE DESIGN:
This truly versatile garment is worked in-the-round, in one piece with ‘afterthought’ armholes. Having a central stocking stitch section knit without any purl rounds, this is an easy-to-make design which will suit many occasions either worn as a shrug, cowl, wrap or scarf. Made from double knitting sequinned yarn it’s perfect for a wedding or ball. Or make it in chunky yarn, to wear with jeans and a t-shirt!
THE PATTERN:
Both written and charted instructions are included in the 5 page PDF download, and the pattern may be customised in various different ways - change the sleeve length and circumference, change the armhole size, and use different yarns.
Full written instructions are provided for both the Chunky and DK samples pictured, note that the smaller circumference is different on both samples - comparative pictures are shown for reference.
SKILLS:
If you can work in the round and knit a simple (easy to remember) lace pattern, then Sky Full of Stars is suitable for you. For an experienced knitter, this is a relaxing knit.
The PDF contains links to tutorials for newer knitters, and step-by-step pictures for creating the ‘afterthought’ armhole openings.
A blog post with additional information can be found here the link at the bottom of the page will take you directly to the pattern download page.
NOTE: A matching pattern is available for wrist-warmer mitts.
