Sirenia
The code “NORICHAN” is provided to assist with financial accessibility. This code will reduce the cost of the pattern to $6.00.
Sirenia is designed from the tip and grows to the lace bottom. It blends two contrasting colors of fingering weight yarn to create a shawl that is inspired by my favorite animal, the manatee!
The simple mosaic pattern is reminiscent of gentle ripples found in the calm water that manatees can commonly be found in. The lace pattern represents mermaid tails, as manatees (and other scientific order Sirenia members) were mistaken for mermaids. <3
This collaboration was worked with Eva of The Blue Rabbit House who has designed the cutest manatee bag (see image 3)! The original yarn used (Knitcraft and Knittery, the pink and green sample) was discontinued, so an alternate yarn was used to make a second version (Serendipitous Wool, the dark purpley magenta and minty grey variegated sample).
