About the yarn: Spun from Blue Faced Leicester, and plied using the Andean ply- ing method. This yarn is very lightly spun to retain the softness and lightly plied so that the lace will block out beautifully. The finished yarn averages about 15 wraps per inch, but you don’t need to match it exactly, since scarves can be worked in a variety of widths and to whatever length allowed by yardage. If your yarn is a substantially different weight, add or subtract pattern repeats to get the perfect size.

Supplies

• US #6/4 mm knitting needles or needle appropriate for yarn
• F/3.75mm crochet hook
• 270 yd/247m 2.75oz/78g of DK weight BFL 2-ply or yarn of choice
• Tapestry needle
• Blocking supplies

Suggested Gauge:

• 24 st x 23 rows = 4 in/10cm in lace, blocked
• 20 st x 28 rows = 4in/10cm in stockinette

Knit in handspun BFL, this simple scarf uses a surprisingly easy lace stitch to produce a lovely undulating effect. The piece is finished with a simple single crochet border and a lovely twisted fringe that won’t fray.
