I love combining simple elements in a design, in this shawl, basic stockinette and garter stitch are used with two yarns of differing colours and textures to create a whole. One at a time, and together making a single cohesive garment.
Materials
Yarn A: 1 skein Farmer’s Daughter Fibers, Pishkun
(100% Montana Rambouillet; 255 yds/233m
in each 100g/3.5oz skein).
Shown in colourway Gary Cooper.
Or
245yds/224m of a DK weight yarn.
Yarn B: 1 skein Farmer’s Daughter Fibers, Oh Dang!
(74% Suri Alpaca/26% Silk; 328yds/300m
in each 50g/1.75oz skein).
Shown in colourway Dirty Little Dandelion.
Or
290yds/265m of a lace weight yarn.
Finished Measurements
OS 172cm/68” wide and 38cm/15” tall.
Equipment
One set size 5mm/US8 circular needles at least 32”/80cm long, or size to achieve gauge.
tapestry needle
Gauge
15.5sts/20 rows = 4”/10cm in Stockinette in Yarn A. Check gauge to ensure you have enough yardage. (Personally I like to live dangerously and don’t bother swatching for shawls, but I have to put this here so that people playing yarn chicken don’t blame me if they don’t have enough yardage to finish the project.)
