From pattern notes:
"The original version of this pattern was knit out of a single skein of Baby Loop Mohair, but the version pictured here was knit with a combination of yarns – and to great effect. This pattern is a great introduction to working with multiple yarns because an entire skein is used up before switching to another yarn, or you can switch yarns as the mood suits. Plus, it is a great way to use up yarn in your stash as well as a great excuse to buy a skein of a stunning designer yarn and pair it with more modest yarns.
