Silverfox Beanie and Slouch
This cozy, easy and seamless beanie features a lovely cable pattern that is designed to match the Silverfox cardigan. (Note: You can choose to leave the pom-pom out if you prefer.)

This hat is knit seamlessly in the round and features an easy cable pattern on a garter stitch background. Directions for both a beanie and a slouchier style are included (except for newborn size). Both charts and written instructions are provided to accommodate personal preference.
Skills required: cast on, knitting, purling, decreasing, knitting in the round, following a simple cable pattern (charts and written instructions provided), yarn over.
For head circumference up to: 14 (16, 18, 20, 22) inches or 35.5 (40.5, 45.5, 50.5, 56) cm.
Finished beanie circumference is approximately: 12 (13.5, 15, 16.5, 18) inches or 30 (34, 38, 42, 46) cm.
Yarn requirements:
Approximately 75 (100, 125, 150, 175) yds or 68 (91, 114, 137, 160) meters of dk weight yarn for beanie version.
Approximately xx (150, 175, 200, 225) yds or xx (110, 137, 183, 206) meters of dk weight yarn for slouch hat version.
Needles:
US 6 or 4mm 16-inch or 40cm circular needles (or size needed to match garter stitch gauge).
1 set of matching dpns for crown of hat.
US 4 or 3.5mm 16-inch or 40cm circular needles (i.e. 2 sizes smaller) for ribbing.
Cable needle or dpn
Notions:
- 8 stitch markers
- tapestry needle
Gauge:
20 sts x 48 rounds (i.e. 24 garter ridges) = 4 inches or 10cm in garter stitch in the round using larger needles, after blocking.
12-round cable motif is 1.3 inches or 3.5cm high.
