Silk Cardigan
Additional materials: Size H/8 crochet hook, five 1 1/2” buttons.
Description
A diminutive crocheted collar and over-size buttons add vintage flavor to in this silk-tweed cardigan. The flecked yarn has a handspun look, and the I-cord drawstring cinches in at just the right spot.
Finished Size: 34 ½ (38, 42, 46, 49½)” (87.5 96.5, 106.5, 117, 125.5 cm) bust/chest circumference. Sweater shown measures 38″ (96.5 cm).
Yarn: Muench Sir Galli (100% silk; 114 yd 104 m/50 g): #4907 beige multicolor tweed, 9 (9, 10, 11, 12) balls.
Yarn weight: #4 – Medium
Gauge: 16 sts and 21 rows = 4″ (10 cm) in St st on larger needles; 17 sts and 21 rows = 4″ (10 cm) in pattern st on larger needles.
Needles: Body and sleeves—Size 8 (5 mm). Ribbing—Size 6 (4 mm). Adjust needle size if necessary to obtain the correct gauge.
Notions: Markers (m); tapestry needle; size H/8 (5 mm) crochet hook; five 1 ½” (3.8-cm) buttons.
