This pattern is an asymmetrical adaptation of our 2011 Minnesota Yarn Shop Hop design, the Sideways Surprise Shawlette. It is knit sideways using 4 skeins of Shibui Staccato and 3 skeins of Shibui Cima (held 2 strands together), and the self-fringe is built in -- created by dropping the stockinette stitch border down to the cast on. Since it may be knitted in any yarn at any gauge, we love it in different “mixes” of Shibui yarns to create custom fabrics.
