Shower Stitch Beret
This beret, inspired by the rain, showcases an intricate shower stitch. This is a cute accessory to add a little panache to any springtime outfit. It is wonderfully challenging pattern for intermediate-advanced knitters looking to explore knitted lace.
Pattern Notes:
Since the end is the beginning and the first rep and the last rep “share” a stitch, for rows 5 & 6 work the stitches indicated in the far right column marked stitches worked before repeat then work 12 st rep as usual until the last 12 stitches which are to be worked as follows:
Row 5: Yo, k2togtbl, k2, yo, k2togtbl, k2tog, yo, k2, k2tog.
Row 6: P1, yo, k2tog, k6, k2togtbl, yo.
After working these 2 rows, move the beginning st marker 1 st to the left, so that there are now 12 sts for the first and last rep. Continue on to row 7.
Another Raveler has found that it is not necessary to work the pattern this way; that the pattern works out just fine by disregarding the little side chart that indicates stitches to be worked before repeat However please note, there will be a slight variation at the beginning, if your decide to work it this way.
