Shoot the Moon
Sometimes all the lace you need is some simple mesh. The asymmetrical shaping of this piece is exaggerated by the balance of lace to stockinette stitch in the patterning. The result is a piece that can be worn in a variety of different ways. When laid out flat, the solid portion of this shawl forms a crescent moon that appears to be trailing a fine mesh in its wake. That made me wonder whether we could have shooting moons to go with our shooting stars.
Yarn Color: Turtle
Notions: Stitch marker, tapestry needle
This shawl can easily be made larger or smaller just by working more or fewer repeats than indicated. You can also knit it in a different yarn weight but you’ll need to change your needle size and yarn amount accordingly.
