This adorable shark, named Shirley is knitted in the rounds, from the mouth to the tail. The inside of the mouth is knitted separately, with stitches picked up for teeth and bind off in picot bind off. The lower part of the mouth is knitted by picking up stitches on the body and knitted onto the body. The upper part of the mouth has a 3 sts I-cord attached along the edge to create the lips. The fins are knitted separately and sewn on.
Finished Toy Size: Approximately 11.5” (30 cm)
Yarn: Cascade 220 Superwash (100% Superwash Wool; 220 yards / 200 meters per 100g / 3.5oz)
Nr. 892 Space Needle (1 skein), stripes are done in Nr. 874 Ridge Rock and Nr. 816 Gray, about 10 – 15 yards / 9 – 14 meters of Nr. 871 White and Nr. 902 Soft Pink
Yardage:
120 – 140 yards / 108 – 128 meters.
Notions: Yarn needle, scissors, stitch holders, stitch marker, polyester fiberfill (1 small bag), two safety eyes, or you can embroider the eyes with black yarn.
