Shiny Sock Puppets
We love reading in our house. After watching an episode of her favorite TV shows, Miss Three requested I make her a sock puppet so that they can read together (just like they did in her favorite show). She asked for a Unicorn.. and then a Dragon.. and then a Unicorn again… In the end I saved her the worry and made both! ;)
ABOUT THE PATTERN:
This crochet pattern features both the Unicorn and Dragon Shiny Sock Puppets. The pattern is in PDF format and 19 pages long. It includes detailed instructions and more than 40 coloured photos to help you along the way.
Available in English Only. The Pattern is written in US Crochet Terminology.
DIMENSIONS:
From finger tips to cuff, the kid size measures 18cm long and 9cm wide (at its widest point) and the adult size measures 25cm long and 11 cm wide (at its widest point). These measurements do not include the dragon tail. However, this may vary depending on your yarn, hook and/or tension. To ensure your sock puppet measures the same as mine, there is a gauge listed after R5 (kids) and R7 (adults).
MATERIALS:
- Hobbii Amigo Yarn (or your favorite 8ply light worsted weight yarn)
- 3.5mm Crochet Hook
- Polyfiber Fill for the stuffing
- 1500 and 12mm eyes (for adult’s size and kid’s size, respectively)
- Tapestry Needle
- Black Thread
- Scissors
- A stitch marker
DIFFICULTY:
Beginner/Intermediate. The pattern assumes you know how to work in the round as well as do the basic single crochet, increase and invisible decrease. Basic sewing skills required to help you sew your puppet pieces together.
PLEASE NOTE:
This is not a listing for the finished toy.
If you intend to give your finished crocheted item to a small child, twice, thrice and quarce check all parts to ensure there are no loose bits that may be a choking hazard. Also reconsider using the safety eyes. No toy is 100% safe. Monitor all play and ensure toy is out of reach when you are not there.
PLEASE BE KIND:
This is an original ShinyGurumi Design.
