“Shine on” is a hat worked seamlessly in the round with two different yarns (one is merino, the other is silk) in a slip stitch pattern that adds dramatic contrast in texture and color.
The stitch pattern is simple and memorizable, with only one strand of yarn worked in each round.
The silk yarn yields a drapey shape for a slouchy beret. The 100% wool supermerino yarn maintains the structure of the ribbed brim and the rest of the hat and provides a foil for the sheen and glimmer of the silk patterning.

GAUGE
21 sts and 26 rows= 4” (10cm )** in color work slip stitch pattern,
19 sts = 4” (10 cm) in k2p2 rib pattern after blocking. To save time, please take time to check gauge in both patterns.

Art Yarns Duet Silk Kit in Ocean Life (consists of a 50g (104 yard) skein Supermerino (100% wool) , or similar yarn with 100% wool fiber content 69, 97, 100 yards, and a 50g (163 yards) skein Regal Silk (100% silk), or similar yarn with 100% silk fiber content 72, 100, 100 yards.
