Shimmering Seas Cowl II
Yarn: 1 skein Fidalgo Artisan Yarn’s Silk Shimmer (63% Silk, 23% Kid Mohair, 10% Nylon and 4% Polyester 100g = 330 yds).
Needles and Notions: US 9 (5.5mm) 24-inch and 16-inch circular needle or size to obtain gauge, US 8 (5 mm) 16-inch needle, double pointed needle of a smaller size, 10 stitch markers, tapestry needle.
Gauge: 20 stitches = 4 inches in twisted stitch when blocked.
Finished Blocked Measurement: Approximately 32-inch circumference at the bottom, 19 inches at the top and 12 inches deep.
Pattern Notes:
• How to work the twisted stitch - Left Twist: Slip the number of stitches called for onto a dpn and rotate the needle 180 degrees (half a circle) clockwise. Knit the stitches from the other end of the dpn onto your working needle. Creates a left twist.
• Right Twist: Slip the number of stitches called for onto a dpn and rotate the needle 180 degrees (half a circle) counterclockwise. Knit the stitches from the other end of the dpn onto your working needle. Creates a right twist.
• Change to a 16-inch circular needle when the opening gets too small for the 24-inch needle.
