Shimmer and Shine Scarf
When you need a fashion accessory that says “Here I am!” this scarf is like no other! “Dramatic” doesn‟t begin to do it justice! Just think how it will look with a black or grey coat this winter – nothing drab here!
The stitches used in this pattern are very basic: chain, single crochet, half-double crochet, double crochet and slip stitch. When working with a fuzzy eyelash-type yarn, it is sometimes difficult to see the stitches themselves so I have found that „feeling‟ for the stitches you are working in is easier. If you have never worked with this type of yarn, I would encourage you to make a practice square to get the hang of it before starting the scarf – it‟s not difficult, just different.
Materials
· MC: 5 ozs sport weight black yarn (Red Heart Sport used for model in pictures)
· CC1: 3 ozs novelty eyelash yarn (Moda Dea Jai Alai – rainbow color used for model)
· US size H-8 / 5mm crochet hook
· Yarn needle
The CC eyelash yarn is always worked with the MC sport yarn. When crocheting the colorful, fuzzy sections of the scarf, you will be working with 2 strands at the same time – 1 of the MC and 1 of the CC eyelash yarn.
Note: Gauge is not critical for this project; but if your stitches are smaller you may need more yarn to make the scarf the size indicated
