Shepherd's Plaid
The colorwork patterns of Scotland often feature in my work, and I particularly like to design using both Fair Isle and Sanquhar patterns in less traditional ways. Although Sanquhar designs are typically knit in black and white, I’ve chosen shades meant to create a more colorful, contemporary look. The cowl is knit in the round as a tube; and, as only two colors are used on any round, it makes for a relatively straightforward yet interesting knit. The piece is finished by joining the cast-on and bound-off edges to form the circular shape.
