Seaming and Weaving in ends.
Shelley Summer Top is a loose fitting, sleeveless, colorful and open stitch summer top.
Two identical pieces are made and later on seamed at the sides and shoulders. This piece is knitted from the bottom up.
There is no shaping in this design. Simply make two rectangles!
Stitch pattern used is originally called “Old Shale” often times also referred to as “Feather and Fan”.
I recently re-vamped this pattern and 4 different versions are now offered.
Solid Color Cropped and Long
Mult Color Cropped and Long
Yarn Suggestions
Any cotton DK weight or cotton/blend DK weight yarn will do.
I made it with Tahki Stacey Charles Cotton Classic, Hu Made Watercolor Pima Cotton, and Kim Dyes Yarn Cobbler DK.
You can also make it with wool if you want to. As long as it is DK weight. I made it with Madeline Tosh Farm Twist, Asylum Fibers Silver Goose, Kim Dyes Yarn and I can also recommend Chelsea Yarns Luxe DK .
