This featherweight shawl, featuring a striking slipped stitch eyelet pattern, is reminiscent of wheat sheaves. Amazingly simple to knit, the rhythmic stitches perfectly highlight the gentle tones of the silk and linen yarn.

Note: This pattern has been updated to version 1.1 to reflect all corrections made.

This asymmetric shawl is worked flat, beginning with the stitches needed for the entire width of the slipped stitch section plus 3 stitches in stockinette on either side. Increases are worked every other row immediately to the left of the slipped stitch section and every row along the far left edge. There is also a rolled stockinette stitch edge (3 stitches wide) on the far right (pattern side) and far left (stockinette side). Before binding off, short rows are worked over the slipped stitch pattern section to bring that edge of the shawl to a corresponding point. The shawl is then bound off using an I-cord bind off.
