Shawl of Many Shapes
The Shawl of Many Shapes is 4 patterns in one. The same stitch pattern has been used in 4 different shapes giving the knitter a choice of crescent, 3/4 squareish-circle (aka squircle), triangle, or ‘cresangle’. Or all of the above.
- Each shape uses a small repeatable chart which can be repeated to any size, and is highly adaptable as to yardage.
- Work all over lace, edging lace only, or something in between.
- Short enough to be easy to memorise.
- Work entirely from the written pattern or from charts.
- Optional beading included.
- Suitable for lace to DK weight (all but the crescent could go up to Aran weight.)
The pattern is a mini lesson in shawl shaping and includes all 4 patterns in one. These can be printed as a whole, or select only the pages relevant to the shape you’re working on at the time.
For almost 7 years, the full proceeds of the sale of this pattern have been donated to Médecins Sans Frontières for their work in the places that need it most. Further explanation here.
