Bold geometry meets versatility in the Shape Play Wrap!

This striking design uses the overlay crochet technique to create eye-catching patterns with fabulous texture. But the magic doesn’t stop there—just a few buttons transform it from a shawl into a stylish poncho, or shrug, making it the perfect adaptable accessory.

The pattern comes in English language (with US crochet terms) and Dutch. It contains full row-by-row written instructions, detailed photo tutorial and video tutorial explaining the basics of the technique.

Materials

Scheepjes Whirl (60% Cotton, 40% Acrylic; 215g/1000m)
Scheepjes Whirlette (60% Cotton, 40% Acrylic; 100g/455m)
Scheepjes Mega Whirl (60% Cotton, 40% Acrylic; 666g/2998m)
Scheepjes Unity (70% Superwash Merino Wool, 30% Polyamide; 100g/420m)

Choose one of the options below

Two-Whirls version

a) Asymmetrical wrap with different color placement for edges (you can use the same or different Scheepjes Whirl cakes)

Yarn A: Whirl Sea Breeze Tease (781) x 1 cake, matching Whirlette Blueberry (854) x 1 cake
Yarn B: Whirl Shrinking Violet (558) x 1 cake

b) Symmetrical wrap with the same edges (choose 2 Whirl cakes in the same color)

Yarn A: Whirl x 1 cake
Yarn B: Whirl x 1 cake
Yarn C: matching Whirlette (for the border) x 1 cake

Whirl & Whirlette version

Yarn A: Whirlette Chestnut (891) x 4 cakes
Yarn B: Whirl Pastel Parfait (795) x 1 cake

Scheepjes Unity

Yarn A: Canadutch (975) x 2 balls
Yarn B: Scott (983) x 3 balls
Yarn C: Cypress Textiles (970) x 2 balls

Scheepjes Mega Whirl
Yarn A and B: 403 Noctura (opposite ends of the same cake)

3.5mm crochet hook
10 buttons

Gauge:

Gauge for Whirl & Whirlette: 19 sts and 16 rows to measure approx. 10cm/4in after blocking (stitch pattern for alternating rows of dc and sc)
Gauge for Unity: 18 sts and 16 rows to measure approx. 10cm/4in after blocking (stitch pattern for alternating rows of dc and sc)

Measurements: The finished wrap measures approx. 70cm x 145cm / 27½in x 57in, blocked
