Shanna's Cable and Lace Vest
Pattern Description from Faith, Hope, Love, Knitting: “I’ve tried to design a garment that reflects Shanna’s feminine, tasteful style, and acknowledges her love of texture, cables, and lace. Consequently, this is a very advanced project, because the cables, lace, and shaping must all be done simultaneously. Shanna also loves working with finer-gauge yarns on smaller needles, and the yarn featured in this vest is still one of her favorites.”

Gauge: 24 sts and 30 rows = 4 inch in Floral Lace Pattern
Notes: Cable edging is worked first, then lace pattern begins in the middle of the row, working progressively longer rows to make a gently shaped, short-rowed hemline. Because the cable edging pulls in more than the lace pattern, more sts are cast on fro the hem than are decreased when beginning the lace. When working neck and armhole shapings in lace, if there aren’t enough stitches for a complete or half pattern repeat, work extra stitches in Stockinette.
