This is the best friendiest shawl you’ll ever see! My bestie Lorajean and I collaborated on the color ways and yarns used, and we’re releasing it to celebrate Best Friend’s Day, which is June 8th. It’s also a part of the League of Busy B’s, which is a pattern-and-social club that’s just full of friendship.

This shawl and its companion cowlette were designed to showcase both some beautiful yarns AND a beautiful friendship. LJ and I have been friends for a loooooong time, and our friendship is one of the most special relationships we both have. We are birthday twins, we work closely together on oodles of things, we both deep-dive into crafty (and sometimes non-craft) obsessions, and we text a bazillion times a day. As the My Little Ponies say, “friendship is magic,” and I’m here to tell you that is true, true, true.

MATERIALS
Yarn: approximately 725 yards/663 m fingering-weight yarn. I used Knitted Wit Fairy Floss in Storyteller (cA, 375 yds/343 m) and Sock in Pollen (cB, 350 yds/320 m) for the yellow bobbled one and Pixie Plied in Unicorn Giggles and Sock in Peachberry Sparkle for the peachy-pink bobbled one.
Needles: US5/3.75mm (or size to obtain gauge) circular needle, 24”/60 cm or longer.
Notions: Stitch markers, tapestry needle.

GAUGE
18 sts & 38 Rs= 4”/10 cm in garter stitch, measured after blocking.
18 sts & 32 Rs = 4”/10 cm in stockinette with bobbles, measured after blocking.

FINISHED MEASUREMENTS
Wingspan: 75”/190.5 cm; length: 66”/167.5 cm; width at bind-off edge: 47”/119.5 cm, measured after blocking.
