“Shades of Pale” is a slightly asymmetrical triangular shawl worked sideways in relaxing garter stitch with simple eyelet rows for variety and easy-to memorize fringe elements on the two longer sides. The fringe is worked as you go in predetermined intervals on the first side, then more fringe is added during the bind-off row on.

“Shades of Pale” is a suitable pattern for new knitters who are ready to enhance their skill repertoire - a good basis for further exploration of lace shawls, as well as a quick in-between- or on-the-go knit, gift project or stash-busting excuse for the more experienced knitter.

Whether in lively hand-painted yarn, long color gradient, two different colors for the garter stitch parts and eyelet rows, or even in a brave multicolor - every knitter can find their personal shade, vividly colored or in various stages of “Pale”!

Shades of Pale was designed in collaboration with Sundara Yarn.

Materials:
* Sundara Yarn Fingering Silky Merino (50% Merino, 50% Silk) 150g/ 560 yards (512 meters)
1 skein or approx. 560 yards 512 meters of fingering weight yarn that knits up to gauge.

Please note that you will really need entire one skein (560 yards 512 meters) of this yarn to make this shawl. I have used up almost the whole skein to make mine.

• US 4 3.5 mm 40” (100 cm) circular needle
• Tapestry needle

One size fits all:
Finished measurements: length (outer edge): 70.5” 176 cm; depth (at the center): 18.5” 46 cm

Gauge: 28 sts and 30 rows per 4” 10 cm in garter stitch after blocking – save time by checking the gauge :)
Gauge is not essential; however, different gauge may effect a different yardage requirement.
