The Seven of Sevens scarf was conceived at the first My Sister Knits Fall retreat at The Stanley Hotel. While sitting on the deck basking in the sunshine, the attendees of the retreat saw the father of the scarf, the Seven of Sevens Blanket. The blanket is an ambitious project where as a scarf is an easy ‘let’s do this’ project.

The original calls for seven colors with a seven star repeat; hence the name, Seven of Seven. I found the color pallet of MJ yarns flawless for this project as the dye processes use harmonizing colors that subtly blend together to produce an eye catching product.

Needles: Size to get gauge (US5 or US6)
Yarn: 7 colors of MJ Yarns Opulent Fingering or MJ Yarns Rustic Fingering (200 grams)
Notions: Needle for weaving in ends

It’s important to swatch in pattern to find the gauge for this project. Because the star stitch creates a condensed fabric, it’s difficult to tell the exact gauge in stockinette.

Gauge for this project is 32 stitches over 4 inches (8 stitches per inch) in the star pattern after blocking.
