All the ribbed edges are finished with narrow stripes, picking out colours in the main part of the design.”

Yarn: Rowan Botany 4 ply in 5 colours totalling 450 (575, 700) g; Rowan Grainy Silks in 2 colours totalling 150 (150, 200) g; Rowan Light Tweed in 4 colours totalling 200 (200, 285) g; and 25 (25, 50) g in Rowan Fine Cotton Chenille. Also 7 buttons.

Machine: Any Brother standard gauge electronic or punchcard machine with ribbing attachment or equivalent. If ribbing attachment not available instructions are given for mock rib on a single bed machine, or alternatively the ribbing may be worked by hand.
