Sempervivum
This pattern was designed for the 2019 Ysolda Club
Sempervivum
Sempervivum is a large, semi-circular lace shawl. It’s worked top down in an intuitive pattern inspired by the leaves of succulents. Mathematically the top edge is slightly more than 180 degrees which allows it to drape better over the shoulders, staying in place however you wrap it. The circular patterning means the charts have lots of no stitch boxes, but otherwise the lace patterning is easier to work than it looks and there are plenty of rest rows. The final chart creates dramatic points — thread a blocking wire through only these points and pin out for the highest impact.
