Seleukaia Top is a classic, sporty and elegant summer basic, which brings out the beauty of a special yarn.
The top is seamlessly knitted from top to bottom.
First the back is knitted down to the base of the armholes, then stitches are picked up for the front and this is also knitted down to the base of the armholes. For a beautiful edge along the armholes, a variant of the I-Cord is worked simultaneously with the upper back and the upper front. Then front and back are joined and the top is knitted in rounds to end.The instructions describe three options for the fit of the lower body: waisted, straight and with an A-line, so that you can choose the fit that suits your preferences. A nice detail for the lower body is the fake side seam on both sides.
The neckband, worked with a pretty contrast color, is a special eyecatcher. Therefore stitches are picked up and then a small rolled edge is worked.

For a well fitted top without ease at the upper part, the size should be chosen according to the (narrowly measured) upper back width.

Yarn:
Any fingering yarn is suitable (400m/100g / 439yds/100g). Since it is a summer top, I recommend a yarn that has a plant component such as silk, cotton, bamboo or viscose.

Seleukaia Top ist eine klassisches, sportlich elegantes Sommerbasic, das durch seine Schlichtheit die Schönheit eines besonderen Garnes betont.
Das Oberteil wird nahtlos von oben nach unten gestrickt.
Zuerst wird der Rücken bis zu den Armausschnitten hinunter gestrickt, anschließend werden Maschen für das Vorderteil aufgenommen und dieses ebenfalls bis zu den Armausschnitten hinunter gearbeitet. Für eine schöne Kante entlang der Armausschnitte wird eine Variante des I-Cord gleichzeitig mit dem oberen Vorder- und Rückenteil gearbeitet. Die Anleitung beschreibt drei Varianten für die Passform: tailliert, gerade und mit einer A-Linie, so dass die Passform entsprechend den persönlichen Vorlieben gewählt werden kann.
Ein besonderer Blickfang ist die Ausschnittblende, die mit einer schönen Kontrastfarbe gearbeitet wird. Dazu werden aus der Ausschnittkante Maschen aufgenommen und eine schmale Rollkante gearbeitet.

Für eine gute Passform im Schulterbereich sollte die Größe entsprechend der (knapp gemessenen) oberen Rückenbreite gewählt werden.
