ENGLISH

Sedum is a romantic and stylish shawl, based on a mix of lace and garter stitch. A half circle shape, a well-made Japanese lace, short rows one in two sections and neatly chosen colors (a wonderful aqua green and pretty speckled grey) to give charm to this basic shawl.
This pattern asks attention and patience., but lace lovers will have their share of fun.

This pattern has been created in Collaboration with Eline et Laines, for the Collection Arc en Ciel.

Material :

• Thread : 730 meters of fingering (here 100% merino high twist, 366 m / 100g). Colors : Grue du Japon (grey) and Sencha (aqua) from Éline et Laines.

• Circular needles, 3,75 mm.

• Around twenty markers.

Gauge

Gauge is not essential, but for information : 20 st x 42 r (21 ribs) in garter stitch = 10 cm height and width.

Extra

• Lace is available as charts or row by row.

• Each technique used in this pattern has a video link. Those videos are in French, but easily understandable just by watching.

• A picture of the shawl blocking with instructions is included + schematic.

Techniques

• lace (yarn over, K2tog/P2tog, SSK/SSP).
• double decrease (left and right)
• garter stitch
• SSK or icord bind off
• short rows (wrap and turn).

This pattern has been tested.
Level of difficulty according to test-knitters : 3/5 (intermediate).

Sedum est un châle romantique chic, basé sur un jeu de dentelle et de point mousse tricoté en bicolore. Une forme demi cercle, une dentelle japonisante à l’effet très travaillé, des rangs raccourcis une section sur deux et des couleurs soigneusement choisies (un vert d’eau nuancé et un gris à speckles noir soutenu) donnent du caractère à ce châle pourtant basique. C’est un modèle qui demande pas mal d’attention, mais les amoureuses de la dentelle se régaleront !

Matériel

• Fil : 730 m de fingering (ici 100% mérinos high twist, 366 m / 100g). Couleurs Grue du Japon (gris) et Sencha (vert d’eau) : de Éline et Laines.

• Aiguilles circulaires 3,75 mm.

• Une vingtaine de marqueurs.

Échantillon

L’échantillon n’est pas primordial pour ce projet, mais à titre indicatif : 20 m x 42 rg (21 arêtes) au point mousse = 10 cm de hauteur et largeur.
