Sedgwick Hat
Introducing the Year of (Bulky) Hats!
We continue to be overwhelmed at the positive reception to our Year of Hats from 2019, and it was a no brainer to do it again in Germantown Bulky!
This oh-so-jaunty beret is the perfect transition to May
weather. Worked from the top down using my favorite cast on, Emily Ocker’s cast-on, it creates a perfect little circle of stitches that you can cinch closed in the most satisfying way. The chart is worked in three segments, and makes a very attractive trefoil when viewed from the top. I think she’s just perfect!
Worthy of Note
The knit-purl chevron pattern is charted; the chart is repeated
3 times around. Change to the 16” (40 cm) circular when
stitches no longer fit comfortably on the double pointed
needles.
Errata: The Brim instructions state that you will have 60 sts after working the decrease round. You will actually have 54!
