Sea Smoke
Once upon a time I needed a simple, quick, baby bonnet. I came up with one and used it for quite a long time. Then, I thought of ways I could vary it or improve it. This is the result of that. It is a great use of small amounts of yarn, leftovers from other projects, even some angora bits and bobs or some other luxury or novelty yarn, as I did with my sample. I have the sample knit with a stripe pattern, but the pattern includes instructions for making it in a solid version. This is a tabula rasa, and the only limit is your imagination.
Materials:
Striped Version - Main Color (MC): approximately 45 (50, 60) yards sport weight yarn
Contrast Color (CC): approximately 5 (10, 15) yards sport weight yarn
Solid Version - approximately 50 (60, 75) yards sport weight yarn
Skills Required: Increasing and decreasing, picking up and knitting stitches, three needle bind off.
