I love finding new ways to hide shaping in my knitwear, or at least turn it into a design element! This pattern features symmetric single decreases and twisted single and double decreases surrounding the twisted stitches running up the body of the hat to accomplish that goal.

Originally I saw a resemblance between this hat and a city skyline, because of the short rows in the ribbing and the decreases into the body of the hat, but I seemed to be the only one; everyone else thought it looked like a jellyfish! My love for jellyfish in general is no secret, so I figured that I was subconsciously thinking of my favorite sea creature when creating this pattern, and I should just go with it.
