Sea Maeve is a classic fisherman style sweater. It is influenced by old images of fisherman in sweaters, and I began to try to envision what a modern take on that could look like. It has an all-over ribbing and 4 panels of cables with a thick collar. The result of combining a 1x1 rib and two panels of a braided round cable creates a beautiful, modern, and ultra-wearable piece that you can wear in a multitude of ways.
This pattern has written and charted instructions.
This drop shoulder sweater is knit from the top-down in the round. The sweater begins by working the back shoulders and knitting to the back underarm. Then stitches are picked up for the front shoulders, which are worked one at a time. From there, both front sides are joined and stitches cast on for the bottom of the front neck and worked to the front underarm length. Then front and back are joined at the underarms to knit in the round. The body is worked in the round to the bottom hem. Stitches for the sleeves are picked up along the armhole edge and worked in the round to the cuff. Stitches are picked up around the neck edge and worked in a rib trim.
