The whole time I was knitting/designing this pattern I kept thinking of wrought iron scrollwork designs. Created with cabling, this design has a lot of subtleties that result in a really elegant crescent-shaped shawl.

This pattern includes instructions for a smaller (one-skein) and a larger (two-skein) version of this shawl. The cream-colored shawl in the photos to the left is the smaller version, the grey shawl is the larger version. Note, the larger version will not use all of two skeins (I think I used about 700 yards). The instructions include both charts and written instructions, as well as the schematic you see at the bottom of the pattern photos to the left.

ERRATA: Set-up for edging on small shawl version: Row 3 should end with a p1 after the last pattern repeat and before the yo, k3.

Chart 1, row 42 written instructions should read: p2, k2, p4, k4, p4, k4, p2, k4, p2, k4, p4, k4, p4, k2, p2
