Introducing our 2026 Brooklyn Yarn Crawl pattern: the Scrappy Patchwork Book Sleeve!

Written for our exclusive Community Garden yarn by Brooklyn Yarn Crawl, this pattern can be stitched up in any Dk weight yarn.

Make a cute little sleeve using beginner crochet stitches, perfect for taking your favorite book or journal on the go! This project uses a small amount of each Community Garden yarn color. MATERIALS
Community Garden Yarn by Brooklyn Yarn Crawl, or another DK weight yarn in five colors. Approximate yarn quantities needed:

• Color A (Loam): 35 g (86 yd)
• Color B (Strawberry): 25 g (62 yd)
• Color C (Leek): 25 g (62 yd)
• Color D (Lemon): 30 g (74 yd)
• Color E (Peapod): 25 g (62 yd)

You will also need…

• G / 4mm crochet hook
• Tapestry needle

SIZE

• Outside, including border: Approximately 8 by 11 inches
• Inside space: Approximately 7 by 10 inches

GAUGE
19 stitches & 9.5 rows = 4 inches in double crochet, after blocking
