Scrappy Hat
Grab all those bits and pieces of fingering weight yarn you’ve been holding onto because they are just too pretty to get rid of and get ready to have some fun!
The Scrappy Hat is a recipe for using up your scraps and minis as well as any other skeins you might want to use up (vacation yarn anyone…?). By holding 3 strands together you end up with an ever changing mosaic of colour that just makes you happy to look at!
Warning: Scrappy Hat knitting can become addictive. I finished 3 hats in the time it would normally take me to make one… and I haven’t stopped yet…
You will need a total weight of 100g. This can be a mish mash of yarns, including parts of larger skeins as well as small ends from old projects, as you will be mixing and matching as you go. The total yardage for all 3 strands is approximately 400 yards (yardage varies with various fingering yarn bases so it may be as much as 420 yards).
I encourage you to be bold and put colours together you would never thing of pairing normally. You will be pleasantly surprised with the results (I promise!).
Sizes: Adult Small (Medium, Large)
Circumference: 18” (20”, 22”)
