Other materials
3mm (UK 11/US 2-3) circular needles in the following lengths: 1 x 60cm/24in long; 3 x 80-100cm/30-40in long (for holding sts, working edging and finishing); 1 x 20cm/8in long (for working sleeve caps)
3.25mm dpn for working i-cord bind off
3.25mm (UK 10/US D/3) crochet hook
Waste yarn (a smooth cotton 4 ply will work best as it won’t stick to your main yarn)
Six transparent button snaps (1-2cm/0.5in)
1.5m/1.5yd Grosgrain ribbon or linen tape (3-4cm/1-1.5in) wide for button band lining
Cotton sewing thread in similar shade to ribbon.
Five (or six) plain buttons (2.5cm/1in)
Cardboard and spare lengths of yarn in your preferred shades for making covered wheelhouse buttons
Tapestry needle for weaving in ends
