Scales, that was the only thing my family could agree on with the description. This pattern looks like mermaid scales, nope reptile scales, me over here ‘I think it looks like beach glass’. Either way, scales it is. Scales is an asymmetric mock cable triangle shawl. Easy to follow and easy to memorize this is a great pattern for variegated yarns.

560 yards (512 meters) of DK weight yarn

NEEDLES
US 7 (4.5mm) / 32” (80cm needle) or longer

NOTIONS
Tapestry needle

GAUGE
16 stitches by 32 rows = 4 inches (10 cm) in 2x2 Ribbing

Adjust needle size to obtain correct gauge if necessary!

SIZE
50” wide by 24” deep (127 cm wide by 61 cm deep) but easily customizable.
